Applications are invited for the post of Lecturer in Law (Teaching and Research) in the Department of Law and Criminology. There are four full time permanent Lecturer in Law (Teaching and Research) posts available.

The Department of Law and Criminology is part of the School of Law and Social Sciences. It is a forward thinking, inter-disciplinary and research active department, which offers undergraduate programmes in Law (LLB), Criminology & Psychology, Criminology & Sociology and Social Sciences; together with Masters programmes in Social Work, Forensic Psychology, and Terrorism and Counter-Terrorism Studies. The Department is also home to an energetic research community and prides itself on its commitment to social justice which is underlined in its teaching, research, and external activities.

We seek an outstanding teacher and researcher to join our dynamic and multidisciplinary team. In this post, we are looking for applicants to contribute to our research priorities in alignment with the University’s values and research themes, consisting of Climate & Biodiversity, Social Justice & Addressing Inequalities, Health & Wellbeing, Culture & Creative and AI & New Technologies.

The position will involve teaching undergraduate core subjects on our LLB Course. And we are interested in candidates with teaching expertise Equity and Trusts, Land law, Professional Legal Skills, Family Law, Financial Crime and Medical law. We are also keen to develop our teaching portfolio in other areas of undergraduate and postgraduate levels of teaching, including the supervision of doctoral students and the development of specialist options to reflect specific areas of expertise. We expect applicants to possess a broad range of skills needed to teach effectively as well as academic leadership and an effective contribution to programme or department administration or projects improving the student experience.
